Qatar Handball Association Complex

Project

This is a lighting project of the façade and the exteriors of the new Qatar Handball Association Complex (Lekhwiya, Doha). One of the three stadiums constructed in Doha to celebrate the twenty-fourth edition of the Men’s Handball World Championship.

Solution

To create a lighting solution from the light calculation, very precise, to try to adjust as much as possible the number of lights of the project without altering the lighting uniformity and quality of the complex.

To monitor these lights, a DMX512-A communication protocol has been used. This protocol is normally used for RGB installations in which colour gradients are required, slow or fast dynamic changes and also multi-media contents in case there are many lights.

Product

The selected light fittings for the project are; Square Grazer® 66×2, SmartLedFlex®, LedFloodStrip® and Linear Flex Ultra Plus. For the general lighting of the façade 80 Square Grazer® 66×2 RGBW with a 45º beam have been used to obtain an even luminous effect on the entire façade. It’s important to know that the Square Grazer® have been installed at 5 metres height on the columns and on each column 4 projectors have been installed.
