General Hospital · Manta (Ecuador)

At the beginning of the year, the president of Ecuador, Lenin Moreno, inaugurated the new General Hospital of the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (IESS) in Manta, Ecuador.

GRUPO MCI, together with Electricidad Guerra Madrid, was selected to supply the general lighting of the hospital. In total, 3.000 modular LED panels 60×60, 40W, with a color temperature of 6000K, in two different versions; IP65 for the cleanroom area, and IP20 for the rest of the hospital areas, were supplied.

Lighting plays an important role in healthcare, which is why it is very important to consider three important factors for a successful lighting project; performance, efficiency and comfort. The light should bring visual comfort for the patients, but also offer efficient and optimal visual conditions to carry out concentrated work for the professionals and staff working on the installations.

The 60×60 LED panels are very suitable for this type of projects, since they are easy to clean and have all the requirements and lighting standards that cleanrooms require.

The General Hospital of Manta has capacity of 200 beds and more than 30 medical specialties. The hospital, equipped with the most advanced high technology, offers a wide range of services such as: outpatient consultants, hospitalization, critical care, including intensive care, emergencies and neonatology care.
