On the 17th of October, the Spanish Prince of Asturias officially opened The Reader’s House. This center is located in Madrid’s Old Slaughterhouse, in the neighborhood of Arganzuela, Madrid.

 

The large cultural space is an initiative of “Germán Sánchez Ruipérez Foundation”, which mainly focuses on readers and books. This is a place for experiencing reading, its new forms, its promotion and training, along with its intermediaries. It is a place for both the general public and professionals. Exhibitions, conferences, workshops, music and film series, together with applied research, will help to shape readers who understand, evaluate, assimilate, share and interpret the world, society and their times because they read.

 

The Reader’s House covers ​​8,000 square meters spread over four different areas.

 

To illuminate the corridors that connect the different spaces of the building, over 140 Line Grazers RGB, in two different sizes, 1200 mm and 600 mm, have been installed.  In this project, the Line Grazer was used for retro illuminate the walls of the corridors.

 

Line Grazer® is a linear lighting wall washer with robust aluminium housing and a UV resistant glass cover. The product suits perfectly for highlighting outdoor and indoor applications offering powerful and efficient wall washing effects and providing a high environmental protection grade (IP66) as well as impact resistance (IK10).

 

Line Grazer® is available in a range of monochromatic or color changing temperatures, controlled via DMX, DALI or 1-10V. Also a wide range of beam angles and mounting options are available.
