LIGHTING DESIGNER – Projects Department

At GRUPO MCI, we develop projects where lighting redefines architecture.

 

We are looking for a Lighting Designer to join our Projects team and take part in the full process from the initial concept to final execution collaborating with different teams to ensure precise, feasible, and coherent solutions.

 

What will you do?

 

Technical project development

  • Performing lighting calculations according to project requirements
  • Preparing technical reports and solution proposals
  • Identifying viable technical alternatives (product, installation, efficiency)
  • Interpreting electrical, architectural, and construction drawings
  • Developing technical drawings for construction and installation
  • Contributing to the technical definition of the project together with the project lead

 

Technical & cost management

  • Preparing technical budgets using SAP / UNIX
  • Reviewing costs and technical feasibility of proposed solutions
  • Optimizing solutions from both a technical and economic perspective
  • Coordinating with the sales team to refine proposals

 

Information & ERP management

  • Creating and updating clients, contacts, and products in the ERP system
  • Creating and linking product codes
  • Managing associated technical documentation
  • Ensuring traceability of project information

 

Coordination & follow-up

  • Managing technical queries from clients, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Coordinating with production to ensure technical feasibility
  • Interacting with suppliers (manufacturers, technicians, partners)
  • Participating in technical project meetings
  • Monitoring the technical status of projects
  • Managing technical documentation and version control

 

Technical support & validation

  • Supporting the resolution of technical issues
  • Ensuring technical consistency from design through to execution
  • Assembling luminaires for testing or validation purposes
  • Performing technical tests (when required)
  • Supporting client validation processes
  • Participating in client meetings
  • Providing technical support in presentations

 

Profile

 

Minimum education:
Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or Engineering

Experience:
Experience in technical projects, lighting design, or similar environments

 

Technical knowledge

  • Lighting calculations
  • Technical documentation and reporting
  • Interpretation of electrical and construction drawings
  • ERP systems (SAP, UNIX, Salesforce, or similar)
  • Preparation of technical datasheets and manuals
  • Technical coordination with suppliers and clients

 

Languages

Upper-intermediate to advanced level of English

Conditions

Permanent contract

Working hours:
Monday to Thursday: 08:30–13:30 / 14:30–18:00
Friday: 08:30–14:30

Salary: according to experience
